Simple Preservation Treatments for Flat, Paper-based Records

When: June 30, 2015 (the day after ANLA’s AGM)

Where: ANLA office – Suite 201, 15 Hallett Crescent, St. John’s, NL

Instructor: Paula French, Conservator & Preservation Consultant

This full day, hands-on workshop will introduce some very basic treatment techniques, work set-ups, and materials required for basic treatment of flat, paper-based archival records.  Basic treatment techniques to be discussed include surface cleaning, fastener removal, opening of folded and rolled paper documents, releasing simple creases from paper documents, and stabilizing tears in paper.

All tools and materials will be provided.

Participants are asked to bring along paper-based documents that require any of the above listed treatment.

Archival documents to be treated, WILL NOT be provided.

Registration deadline: Participants must register for this course by  June 22, 2015 .

Fees:    $50 for ANLA members                $75 for non-members
