ANLA Membership
ANLA currently has a range of institutional and individual members (75% staffed by volunteer and part-time staff). Archival holdings include records of parent organizations, business documents, diaries, correspondence, photographs, oral histories, recordings and films.
Our institutional members represent a wide diversity of mandates and acquisitions policies. Our members include universities, heritage centres and historical societies, religious communities and congregations, military and legal bodies, medical and benevolent organizations, francophone and aboriginal communities, professional and volunteer associations. For a complete listing of our institutional members, see the Archival Resource Catalogue.
Benefits of Membership
ANLA presents training in archival skills and practices through workshops, seminars, and lectures. We also offer professional advice through consultations by mail, telephone or e-mail, and by on-site visits. Member institutions are entitled to have their finding aids as part of our provincial ARC-ANLA database, which makes it easy for researchers to find what they’re looking for and prepare for their visits to your archives. As a member, you will also be added to our members-only e-mail list with pertinent information about workshops, job listings, relevant archival news, and the like.
Membership is also a requirement for applying to some provincial government heritage funds as well.
Membership for individuals is $25 and $50 for institutions. Please print and mail in a completed membership form to the ANLA office, P.O. Box 23155, St. John’s, NL, A1B 4J9, or use our web form below.
